I am very proud of what Lakota has accomplished during my first two terms. The dedicated work of our administrators, teachers and staff members helps all students achieve their full potential, and the decisions that I have made as a board member are always based on how to support that work. Some of the highlights from the past eight years include:

• The development and growth of our award-winning Cyber Academy

• The implementation of all-day kindergarten

• Receiving the Auditor of State Award with Distinction

• The addition of a military commitment ceremony

• Providing mental health support to all students through our partnership with MindPeace

• Creating opportunities to listen to our community through Community Conversations & the Thought Exchange

• Expanded access to technology for all students

• Supporting entrepreneurship through the development of INCubatoredu@Lakota

These opportunities have all been created in a manner that allows our district to maintain our commitment to being fiscally responsible stewards for our taxpayers. I have been proud to partner with our Superintendent, our Treasurer, and my fellow board members to provide expanded offerings for our students.

 

I have also made it a priority to attend school events across the district, and I enjoy watching our students showcase their talents. Lakota students definitely excel in arts, extracurricular clubs, and athletics!

I am currently serving as the Board Vice-President, and I serve on the Community Engagement and Board Leadership Committees. I am also an Ambassador of Public Education for the Ohio School Boards Association, and I serve on the Government Issues Committee for the West Chester-Liberty Chamber Alliance. I'm also Lakota's representative on the Ohio Coalition for Equity & Adequacy of School Funding.
